    Delhi Government Announces Admission Schedule for CM Shri Schools for 2026–27 Session

    The Directorate of Education Delhi has released the admission schedule for the upcoming academic session 2026–27 for CM Shri Schools in the national capital, outlining key dates, eligibility criteria, and examination details for prospective students.

    According to an official notification, admissions for Classes 6 and 9 will commence from April 13, while the process for Class 11 will begin on May 7. The announcement marks the continuation of a flagship education initiative by the Government of Delhi aimed at enhancing the quality of public schooling through modern infrastructure and updated academic practices.

    Entrance Examination Timeline and Process

    As per information shared by officials, admit cards for the entrance examinations were issued on April 8. The selection process will involve objective-type entrance tests conducted using OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) sheets.

    The examinations for Classes 6 and 9 are scheduled to take place in the final week of April, while candidates applying for Class 11 will appear for their test in May. Results for Classes 6 and 9 are expected to be declared on April 30, whereas the results for Class 11 are likely to be announced on May 25.

    Education department officials stated that detailed syllabus guidelines and sample OMR sheets will be made available through official channels to help students familiarise themselves with the examination pattern.

    Eligibility Criteria and Reservation Policy

    The eligibility criteria specify that only students who are residents of Delhi and have studied in recognised schools within the capital during the 2025–26 academic year can apply for admission.

    In line with government policy, 50% of the seats in CM Shri Schools have been reserved for students who have completed Classes 5, 8, or 10 from government schools in Delhi. The remaining seats will be open to other eligible candidates who meet the residency and academic requirements.

    Officials noted that this reservation policy is intended to ensure equitable access while also maintaining opportunities for students from diverse educational backgrounds.

    Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme

    The entrance examination format varies slightly across different classes. For Class 6, the question paper will be bilingual, allowing students to attempt questions in both Hindi and English. However, for Classes 9 and 11, the examinations will be conducted in English.

    The marking scheme also differs between levels. The Class 6 examination will carry a total of 300 marks and will not include negative marking. In contrast, the examinations for Classes 9 and 11 will carry 400 marks each and will include provisions for negative marking, as per the guidelines issued.

    Education experts suggest that this structured assessment format aims to evaluate both conceptual understanding and analytical abilities of students.
