Iran Warns U.S. and Israel Against Any Attack Ahead of Ayatollah Khamenei’s State Funeral

Iran has issued a strong warning to the United States and Israel ahead of the state funeral of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, cautioning that any military action or aggression during the mourning period would be met with a swift and forceful response.

The warning comes as Iran prepares for a series of official funeral ceremonies following the death of Ayatollah Khamenei. Senior military officials said the country's armed forces remain fully prepared to respond to any threat against Iran’s sovereignty, leadership, or people.

In an official statement, a top Iranian military commander urged the United States and Israel to avoid what he described as any “miscalculation,” emphasizing that any hostile action would trigger severe retaliation from Iran’s military. The remarks reflect heightened tensions in the region as the country enters a period of national mourning.

According to Iranian authorities, the state funeral ceremonies are scheduled to begin on July 4 in Tehran and conclude on July 9 with the burial in Khamenei’s hometown of Mashhad. Additional memorial events are also expected to take place in the religious city of Qom and other locations during the week-long observances.

Earlier this week, Iran’s foreign minister also warned that any threat targeting the country's leadership or citizens would receive an immediate response. The statement followed recent comments from Israeli officials regarding Iran’s leadership, adding to already strained relations between the two countries.

As part of the security arrangements for the funeral, Iranian authorities have increased security measures across major cities. Temporary airspace restrictions are expected over Tehran, Mashhad, and several other regions to ensure the smooth conduct of the ceremonies and maintain public safety.

The developments have drawn international attention, with analysts closely monitoring the situation for any signs of further escalation in the Middle East. Experts believe that any new military confrontation could have wider geopolitical consequences, including potential impacts on global energy markets, regional stability, and international diplomacy.

The funeral ceremonies are expected to attract large crowds, prompting Iranian security agencies to remain on high alert throughout the mourning period. Officials have urged citizens to cooperate with security arrangements and follow government advisories during the events.

Meanwhile, the international community continues to watch developments closely, with many governments calling for restraint and urging all sides to avoid actions that could further escalate tensions in an already volatile region.

As Iran moves forward with the state funeral of its late Supreme Leader, attention remains focused on the country's security environment and the broader geopolitical implications of the ongoing tensions in the Middle East. The coming days are expected to be critical for regional stability as diplomatic and security developments continue to unfold.
