Amar Chitra Katha launches its most awaited title Bhagavad Gita: Song of the Divine

Amar Chitra Katha, India’s most beloved storyteller, proudly announces the release of its much-awaited title Bhagavad Gita: Song of the Divine, launched on 1st December at 11:11 AM, coinciding with Gita Jayanti. The launch took place across social media through collaborations with multiple influencers, marking a digital-first celebration of one of India’s greatest spiritual and philosophical texts, reimagined for today’s generation.

This specially curated 128-page edition is a long-awaited release that fans have been requesting for years. The last Bhagavad Gita, by Amar Chitra Katha, was released in the 1970s as a concise 32-page edition. The new version goes far deeper, with expanded storytelling, detailed explanations, and new sections exploring the rules of dharmayuddha (righteous warfare) and the Gita’s influence on some of history’s greatest minds.

Written in clear, simple language and brought to life through striking contemporary illustrations, this edition makes the timeless teachings of Krishna accessible and relatable to readers of all ages. It presents the Bhagavad Gita not as a religious scripture, but as a guide for courage, clarity, and choices, a book to turn to, for direction in moments of confusion, doubt, or change.

The launch campaign, themed The Eternal Guide, celebrates the Bhagavad Gita as humanity’s timeless compass, an example that has guided generations through the challenges of life. Through this campaign, Amar Chitra Katha invites readers to rediscover Gita’s enduring relevance - not as a text of the past, but as a life companion for the modern world.

Ms. Reena Puri, Executive Editor, Amar Chitra Katha, explained, “In today’s world of constant doubt and very often despair, the Bhagavad Gita is more relevant than ever. Its lessons on balance, purpose, and inner strength help us navigate challenges that life constantly throws up. We have tried to bring this timeless wisdom to readers in a way that feels alive, accessible, and deeply human. It is not an easy path that Krishna shows us, and yet it is one that draws us to his words. The illustrations by our artist Arijit Dutta Chowdhury depict abstract thoughts in a striking way.”

Savio Mascarenhas, Group Art Director, Amar Chitra Katha, shared, “Fans have been asking us for a new Bhagavad Gita for years, and we’re thrilled to finally deliver it. Every panel has been reimagined with contemporary art to resonate with today’s readers while preserving the spirit of the original. This book is truly a labor of love from a dedicated team of writers, artist and designers. The Gita is a complex story to tell and to bring it out in a sequential art format was a huge challenge. I am sure our readers will love this visual treat as much as we did in creating it.”

The Bhagavad Gita: Song of the Divine is now available on shop.amarchitrakatha.com, Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit and leading bookstores across India. Readers can also access it digitally through the ACK comics app.
