    Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that President Droupadi Murmu’s address to the joint sitting of Parliament reflected India’s significant development progress in recent years while clearly outlining priorities for the future. The address marked the formal beginning of the Budget Session of Parliament.

    Speaking after the President’s address to members of both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, the Prime Minister described the speech as inspiring and comprehensive. He noted that, in India’s parliamentary tradition, the President’s address holds special significance as it sets out the government’s broad policy direction and the collective resolve guiding national governance in the months ahead.

    According to Mr. Modi, the address effectively captured the country’s development journey and the aspirations shaping its next phase. He said the speech not only reviewed progress made across sectors but also provided clarity on the goals the government aims to pursue, particularly in the context of long-term national growth.

    “The President’s address offered a clear and insightful overview of India’s progress in recent times, while also pointing towards a defined direction for the future,” the Prime Minister said in remarks shared publicly. He added that the address reflected the shared national aspiration of building a strong, self-reliant, and developed India.

    The Prime Minister highlighted the emphasis placed on the vision of a “Viksit Bharat,” stating that it resonated with the collective ambition of citizens and policymakers alike. He said the speech underlined the importance of inclusive development and reaffirmed the government’s focus on strengthening economic resilience, institutional reform, and innovation-driven growth.

    President Murmu’s address touched upon a wide range of themes, including economic growth, social welfare, governance reforms, and national development priorities. The Prime Minister noted that special attention was given to efforts aimed at supporting farmers, empowering youth, uplifting economically weaker sections, and improving opportunities for marginalised communities.

    He said the address reaffirmed the government’s commitment to accelerating reforms while maintaining a focus on good governance. According to the Prime Minister, the emphasis on innovation and efficient administration was particularly relevant at a time when India is positioning itself as a major global economy.

    The Budget Session, which began with the President’s address, is considered a crucial period in the parliamentary calendar.     Mr. Modi noted that the address reflected continuity in policy thinking while also acknowledging evolving challenges and opportunities.
