Gold Prices Remain Closely Watched Ahead of Festive Shopping

The latest decline comes ahead of the festive season, when demand for gold jewellery traditionally receives greater attention from consumers. Even relatively small daily movements can influence the final cost of jewellery purchases, particularly when buying larger quantities.

However, the quoted gold rate is not necessarily the final amount a jewellery customer will pay. The final bill can also depend on factors such as making charges, taxes, the jeweller's pricing structure and the design of the jewellery.

Gold prices can also change during the day and may differ between markets and jewellers. Buyers should therefore check the latest rate with their jeweller before making a purchase.

For September 25, the reported rates show that Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru and Hyderabad had the same quoted prices for both 22-carat and 24-carat gold. Delhi was slightly more expensive, while Jaipur and Lucknow recorded the highest rates among the cities covered in the report.

With gold prices continuing to fluctuate, consumers planning festive purchases will be watching the market closely in the days ahead.
