J&K Deputy CM Seeks Clarity on Journalist’s House Demolition

    Srinagar | November 29, 2025 — Yugcharan News

Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Saturday asked officials to clarify who authorised the demolition of journalist Arfaz Daing’s house in Jammu. The structure was pulled down by the Jammu Development Authority (JDA) two days ago in the Narwal area.

Mr. Choudhary visited the site to meet the affected family and review the situation. Speaking at the spot, he said his visit was meant to “send a clear message that the government stands with the journalist” and that accountability is necessary.

He emphasised that the JDA must explain the chain of decisions that led to the demolition and identify the officials responsible for issuing the directive.

The incident has drawn public attention, especially as concerns grow over procedural transparency and the handling of such actions by authorities in the Union Territory.
